Jennifer Jordan is a dynamic entertainer who has been delighting audiences with her vocal stylings and endless energy. A lover of all kinds of music, Ms. Jordan’s versatile voice has allowed her to sing everything from Big Band to Broadway show tunes to country music. She has sung with such locals as the Charly Raymond Orchestra, Leon Merian and The Bruno Connection and shared a stage with Chick Corea and Judy Tenutti. She has done TV work with Barbara Minty.
A native of northern New Jersey, she has studied with such maestros as Fred Silver and sung her cabaret show, That’s NY, in and around the New York Metropolitan area as well as cruise ships and national tours. She has been seen at famed New York hotspots as Don’t Tell Mama, Trader Vic’s and Cafe Society, as well as clubs in Austin, Texas. Ms. Jordan is the lead singer with Take Three, Florida’s premier female vocal trio, recreating the sounds of such great groups as The Andrews and McGuire Sisters. She has sung our National Anthem for major league teams --the Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies.
After a stint managing a singing restaurant --Homestyle Harmony-- on the South Trail in Sarasota in the mid '90's, with her then husband, Greg, she opened Beauty & The Productions. They performed locally as well as regionally, travelling as far north as NYC -- Jenn's old stomping grounds-- and as far west as Austin, TX. Always wanting to provide the best entertainment possible, Jenn learned many other entertaining skills she still offers today --face painting, glitter & henna tattoos, balloon sculpting-- to name a few. She even learned to clown, giving birth to her alter-ego --Sparkles, The Clown-- now retired. Selling the company in 2010, Jennifer took a break from full-time entertaining to take care of her aging Dad who passed, at the age of 94, in February, 2018.
Jennifer's connection to The Glass Slipper goes way back to the last century. In the early 2,000's, Jennifer had an opportunity to buy the costume. Being a loyal client for years, the owner offered the shop for sale but Jennifer didn't bite. Tom Ritchie, the owner of LTM Party Stores at the time, bought it. Then a few years later she was asked to purchase Cathy's Costumes in Bradenton. Again, she declined and Tom snatched up that store. Still entertaining sporadically, Jennifer always remained a client of The Glass Slipper Costume Shoppe. Last November, while shopping for a big corporate event for one of her clients, Tom offered up LTM and The Glass Slipper! She thought, "How many more opportunities will the universe give me to buy a costume shop?" She cut a deal with Tom and is thrilled to now own so many costumes she used to rent!
